THE GULLIBLE CANARY (released September 18th 1942 by Columbia Pictures) Directed by Alec Geiss, Written by Frank Tashlin, Produced by Dave Fleischer for Screen Gems. Animation: Chic Otterstrom. Music: Eddie Kilfeather. Voices: Harry E. Lang (Canary), Dick Nelson (Swallow), Sara Berner (Canary Wife). A Phantasy Cartoon.
At least one site lists this as the first "Flippy" cartoon. The crow could well be a cousin of Mr. Crow from the "Fox and Crow" series, which came out this same year. You may also know Sara Berner (voice of Mrs. Canary) best as Sniffles from the Warner Bros. shorts; she would also voice Andy Panda and Chilly Willy at Lantz Studios.

The reason there's a "Screen Gems" opening, 'malylotek', is because this is a TV print, circa 1958; when they began reissuing their feature films and shorts to local TV stations after 1956, Columbia replaced most of the original logos on 16mm TV prints with a Screen Gems logo, eliminating original title cards on their theatrical cartoons as well.
