A simple answer for those who think the christians are REALLY persecuted --> INQUISITION.
¬¬ Learn what was true persecution. Then we can go back to dialog.

@fekinel I did just this, the low number of signatures is rather depressing. However, I am not sure the petitions I read where couched in terms that would appeal to a broader section of the population ,one of them seemed quite hostile , which is fine by me because I'm quite militant. I think a newer petition with more carefully crafted language might broaden the appeal and get more signatures.
Anyway, just my 2 cents.

@AURORACELLIAULOS Actually... it feels even greater knowing that the bible is a piece of crap written by men, to control men. Because once you give up trying to hold yourself to the impossible "catch 22" standards of the bible: you are free to be a good and decent person... because you LIKE being such a person.
Not to suck up brownie points from "god", or because of threats of hell.

@TheGeneralCritic I think it goes beyond that, even. God created a system knowing ahead of time that we would fall, according to the Bible. He told us not to eat from the tree of knowledge, which contained the knowledge of right and wrong. How is he going to tell us that it's wrong and honestly expect us to comprehend what he means when the knowledge of right and wrong are obtained AFTER eating the fruit from the tree? He set the system up for failure.
