we have a 10 pound anchor tied to a rope that is anywhere from 10-50 feet depending on how far out we feel like setting the anchor...and that is attached to the "banshee bungee"...you get a couple friends to help pull it back and once they let go you better hope you have some decent water into the wave or it can get quite painful...but in general, yes it is easy to use...

the site says about 30...we have connected two bungees together and had about 7 people stretch it back as far as we could...I would say it was easily double the speed you would normally go
