  • Un Sospiro is a little bit on a showy-side piece rather than a genuine artistic expression. This is my feeling, and I might be wrong. Nevertheless, it is a beautiful and respectful composition.

  • Lovely piece, and a very sensitive interpretation. My compliments to the pianist - but why have I never heard of him? He is wonderful.

I really like Liszt when he writes like this - but sometimes he can be rather too much a showman, and not enough a musician.

But Vidovic! That man has had his heart broken, I think. I want to bake him cookies.

  • Thanks a lot for nice words. You are probably right about Liszt. He was a great musician, but sometimes instead of creating a great master piece he would rather chose to write a music which he could more easily "sell" to audience. Still, even in his most showy pieces, there is always some ray of genius.

Broken heart? I don't know. Maybe it was Liszt's heart broken when he was writing Un Sospiro.

As far as cookies, sounds good. I like oatmeal raisin a lot.

  • @asv8104 Why is Un sospiro not a masterpiece in your opinion? :)

  • Iam going to wear out this video. I could listen to this 24/7. Vidovic is a god.

  • Hello again, asv8104.

Are you the pianist, Vidovic? I wasn't sure. If you are, congradulations!

It does seem strange to think that Liszt would ever have had his heart broken (he was such a heart-breaker himself) but of course it must have happened. This is the man who wrote Funerailles! You must be right that Liszt's heart was broken when he wrote this piece. But I wonder what it was that could have broken his heart, this time? I always wonder about the stories of such pieces.

  • Excellent

  • It's in D flat. Very nice video - great playing, I have been trying to learn this piece for a while now there are so many intricate angles to it. The piano was also just perfect for Liszt - very enjoyable. Thank you

  • what key is it in?
