Video starts at 30fps and I increment by 1 fps up until the distortion at 38fps. So, it seems that 37fps is the limit for 720p. Unfortunately 21fps is the limit for 1080p, but the good news is we now have 720p @ 24p!!!!!

I also slow the framerate down towards the end of the video to about 10fps or so, so under cranking still works (which will be good for low-light video).

Great job g3gg0 for first discovering this on the 600d, and A1ex for porting it to the 550d/500d/50d. Great job guys!

  • @brismandem hey you may have the same confusion I had. Go into the Magic lantern menu using the erase button. Then you hit the camera menu button. this will expand the magic lantern menu giving you more options such as "FPS override"

  • @CouttsPhotog please explain how you managed to do this using magic lantern! thank u

  • @LizzyAston I'm training to learn how to use Kronos in AE :) But I'm still a beginner in video, pictures are way easier to work on! And you, what do you use?

  • @Seventaiji Yeah it's true 60p, true :) which post production elements do you use?

  • @LizzyAston Your question make me wonder : when you record in 720p at 60p, isn't it a true 60p? Still, it is hard to get a smooth slowmo with just 50/60p, without some post-prod...

  • I film skateboarding and my videos seem kinda jumpy like the frame rates off. How did you change your frame rate to look so good!!!

  • hi did you see the colour flicker? i'm having a problem with the purple colour flicker. do you know what is causing this colour flickering.

  • Thanks for the upload. I wonder if overclocking of the processor would be possible :D I was hoping that I could get some nice slo-motion capabilities with this feature, but unfortunately not. CBR at 0.1, ISO 12800, exposure 1/1000, 640x480, but still only 58 fps max. I'm sad :(
