Just what the Nations Highways need more Unskilled Drivers! If Trucking Companies would just take better care of their Drivers their wouldn't be a shortage. Yea Right! Fact is, there will always be a shortage of Drivers because Trucking Companies rely heavily on New Drivers to keep their labor costs down and their profits up. To spell it out all this is an advertisement to get new bodies interested in the Trucking Business. There is a shortage, a shortage of Professional Safe Truck Drivers. Why do you think the DOT are stepping thing up with the CSA 2010.

  • There's no real shortage of drivers. Just a shortage of companies that want to keep experienced truck drivers. This is a big game they play to justify getting tax credits for student drivers. There are plenty of ex-drivers that would go back to trucking if the market paid them fairly.

  • Most trucking companies dont wana pay drivers good, they want to pay dimes and nickles, thats why is driver shortage,i dont drive for nobody for free fuck them,i stay local making $13 hr,home every night.until i find a carrier with good pay i would drive again.

  • @mesjc261975 Most can't even read a map or do trip planning!

  • @pilottravel2002f Your absolutely right! I did 4 years with various companies and then 12+ years ago I started driving a mixer at $12.60 in '99 and know I'm up to $21. Unfortunately, everything else has gone with my raises!

  • There's a shortage because too many of the new drivers are pussies & can't handle the lifestyle

  • This is for the people that think anyone can drive a truck, and your right anyone can.

But the big difference between a truck driver and a steering wheel holder is,the truck driver gets out of everything everyone else puts him or her into,a steering wheel holder just smashes the brakes and hopes for the best. After 39 years I know, now you really think anyone can drive a truck?

As far as the new rules go,they can replace me with a steering wheel holder, bye bye.

I wish everyone the best ,God Bless.

  • @truckdawg43 They say they wont but they will slip it in. You think trucking is fucked up now just wait .Its not a Lib Repub thing they are all just as guilty as the next .The pay isnt an issue if you want a good paying trucking job they are out there .If it has to be local join the teamsters .I wouldnt I have no use for em and they dont for me ,I wont pay some one to sit on their ass and wimper when policies dont suit them ,and you can thank Hoffa for LaHood .The Asshole that started this shit

  • I have been on or around trucking for 27 yrs .I have busted tires I have wrenched I have lumped .I can go to work right now for any trucking comp I wish .But I am thinking serious about getting out because of these regs .The gov is forcing us out for some crooked reason ,and its all pointing to Mexico .Step back and take a good look at it ,we will be paying to make sure their trucks are safe ,we will be paying to put elogs and other devices on their trucks .They will be able to back haul

  • I've been out here 18 years im a owner op and I've got to disagree with you I've seen thousands of drivers out here that have no business being out here I see them being scraped off the highway and these trucking schools don't teach u shit sorry

  • @bloodlust1982 I drove for almost 12 years, and was an instructor and driver trainer. How much is there to it? On average 6 weeks of training and you get your own truck. Name another occupation you can do with not even a high school diploma required with 6wks training and make 30 - 50K right out of the gate! I have had 400lb ex football players to 4'10" tall 90lb women learn how to drive truck. It is not that hard.
