  • Hi

  • Stop de fightin about wah country de best and enjoy de chune.

  • da beat ill

  • @TheNearConstant If some of them look Asiatic it's because Suriname is so multicultural and interracial marriage is actually common in the nation. Asian groups in Suriname consist of Indians, Indonesians and Chinese. The aboriginal population in Suriname is just like that of Guyana and categorized as Amerindian, although there are many Natives in the region who aren't of only one single tribe. Many natives are often misinterpreted as coming from the Asian sub-continent.

  • @TheNearConstant Interesting fact about Suriname is their Chutney and Soca. Their music focuses a lot on African and Indian linguistic, which is sometime mixed with Dutch. Hindi is spoken by many Indians in Suriname, some of whom are not from Guyana but were brought over by the Dutch. Also Suriname is one of the few nations that had a slave population that escaped and continued there rich culture in South America. This would explain African derived soca songs like the hit Faluma by square one.

  • @TheNearConstant Hey, it's a good question. Trinidad and Guyana have a lot in common with Suriname. Due to its location it shares much of it's culture with Guyana. In fact many inhabitants of Suriname were originally from Guyana but Suriname still has a very distinct culture. It's the most multicultural nation in South America. Consisting of Indonesians, Dutch, Chinese, Indians, Africans, and European inhabitants. Language is Dutch but English is popular due to how close it is to Guyana.

  • yong backbana

  • Quick question .. I am however not Surinamese I am from Trinidad, but people I know that are from Suriname look somewhat Asian and their culture is sort of similar to other west indies. Why is this? Someone tell me please KaiThx-3
