Tons Of Union Pacific Action, West Chicago, IL.

Here is a line-up of trains that came within 45 minutes.

Train 1. UP AC4400CW #7219 and NS C39-8 #8636 lead the UE-EWNA Ethanol Train East. This train stops a bit before the West Chicago Metra Station since Train 30 is soon to arrive.

Train 2. Nice power on the way as UP #2505 and GP60 #1906 lead a manifest West.

Train 3. Train 30 being Pushed by F40PH-2 #142 passes by and advances to the Station further down.

After 40 minutes of waiting, the ethanol begins moving again. It cut the entire town in half and left many motorists gridlocked and pissed.

God this crossing sucks. It's impossible with the development around to grade separate this Intersection. Now thanks to CN, the quadrupled traffic is really making things fun.

fyi; for emergency vehicles and others to navigate thru town vs rail road traffic clogging the road ways, there are four overpasses in this town for use to get from one part to the other; one in town, one east of town, one south and one west;

Was there 4-4-10, saw lots of UP; saw 2 CN's over old EJ&"E track. Basicbill1 has posted a nice one he shot while I was there. Also saw a couple of Metras. It was Easter morning.

If I were Union Pacific I would have seen if there was a crossing free area big enough to hold the train and kept it there but then again it's Chicago's suburbs and they are packed with railroad crossings.

As much as I love trains I'd probably get a little upset if I had to allow 40 minutes extra to drive across town just in case something like the ethanol train ambles slowly through.
