  • Blimey, someone gave this a "down thumbs" - that surely must have been a mistake?

  • @swarrans1 yeah, I wondered what prompted that as well, there's no accounting for taste is there....or maybe we've upset soemone!

  • Yes big is beautiful {"_*}

  • @spektrum33 indeed, it was majestic on landing approach to say the least

  • I've given up Microlighting due to a confidence crisis (Doesn't help when you are frightened of heights!) So have just got two "Foamies" from Alan Head to get back into Slope Soaring.

    Looks like Thurnham is the place to go, but must admit I could never find it in the 90s. Hopefully see you there and catch up

  • @motley912 Steve good to hear from you! Tim's still going strong,he's become a full time carer for his mother the past few years. Dereck passed away in about 98 (liver cancer unfortunately) Pete is still around (pjweds on youtube) and John gets out when the weather's good. I get up to BlueBell when I can but Thurnham is closer + better landing for expensive toys. Gave up the Lambretta long ago, turning 40 in a few weeks, where does time go? Dust off that Phase 6 and get yourself up the hill !

  • Hi Miniphase,

    I'm guessing you are the Paul I used to fly with at Bluebell and Holly Hill back in the early to mid nineties. Along with Tim McWilliams (Is he still about??), "Ding 'em Derek" and John the carpenter who flew tiny little self designed gliders. I seem to remember you turning up on a bike with glider and radio in a ruck sack? .

    Cheers Paul (I hope it's you anyway)

    Best

  • good, here the winds died of and so did the thermals, so i will not visit the slopes in a while, fortunately there is a small field where I can launch my electric gliders

  • @edwinzea it did look beautiful coming in on full flap Edwin, we hope to see more of it flying over the coming months
