Don't feel bad, chuyssbbowner. The closer you get to the nut, the harder it is to play barre chords. There are still barre chords that I can't always count on nailing cleanly because I have small hands and my index fingers have a weird bow to them that doesn't make them ideal for laying down the barre. And I have to usually cheat and do a mini-bar with my fourth finger on a lot of those 5-string major chord barres.

I was having the same problem the problem wasn't my finger strength but how I was holding the guitar. Imagine yourself hugging the guitar and pull it toward yourself and use that leverage to press the strings down along with clamping with your thumb/first finger

well thats because thats all u have to do is practice.....u may not like it at first but it does pay off in the end

for sure...this is good. spend an evening learning barre chords and pentatonic scales.... you would be surprised at the results! i've been playing without instruction for 19 years, and it's the simple vids like this that help put the finishing touches on my songs.. thanks!
