Trans Atlantic medium wave DXing at my home near Hannover (Germany) with my JRC NRD-535DG and Wellbrook ALA1530 active loop antenna on 18 January 2012.
Stations received:
1130 kHz WBBR Bloomberg Radio, New York - distance: 6175 km
1390 kHz WEGP Presque Isle, Maine (presumed) - 5390 km
1500 kHz WFED Washington, DC (presumed) - 6496 km
WEGP and WFED are the U.S. stations usually heard here on 1390 and 1500 kHz respectively, but as I did not hear any ID that night I prefer to label them as "presumed".
Unfortunately, I had very little time for DXing this week so I could not do a DXpedition during good TA DX conditions.
@MARKGM20877 Thanks Mark... WBBR is certainly the most frequent TA catch at my QTH since Croatia stopped overnight use of 1134... What you hear in this video is what I usually get at home when conditions are decent and local noise is lower than average. For better signals I think I'd have to live about 250 km farther North. The passband shift helped to overcome the otherwise muffled sound of the NRD pretty well. Cheers & stay tuned Matthias

Nicley Done Matthias..with the indoor loop WBBR was particularly coming in well its a struggle against noise but you timed it well and the loop does a good jobl for you cheers Mark

@tvdxrools Thanks David... Indeed I can't complain about the Wellbrook. Fortunately, local noise is a bit lower that early in the morning so some DX may get through if the conditions are right. I hope the weather will improve soon to allow for another DXpedition. At the moment it's awkward with storm and rain. Cheers Matthias
