The reason I think the huge internet rivalry is ridiculous is that they're really not at all different animals. The differences in size, strength, and tactics are really negligible.

I don't think Dave said the lion would win EASILY but that generally speaking it would have "the edge" because it has a mane and that's all it does all day long is FIGHT.

1 question, any of u actually study these animals? i do. and i can safely say on average a tiger is bigger, stronger,musclier in BOTH legs, heavier, more agile, more diverse. also another question, why are tigers almost extinct? because of humans. y did humans hunt tigers so mcuh, because of thier belief in the power of thier bones. or because it is much harder to kill than a lion and therefore a better prize

@bertdumb There's studies showing that overall, the tiger is stronger, even in the forearms. It's also stronger in the hindlegs. Strong enough that the tiger has much better balance than the lion. Needless to say that the lion can't balance, it just can't fight by swiping both paws at the same time.

@davidspade200 The lion isn`t weaker then the tiger. There are actual studies conclude the lion likely has at least the stronger shoulders and upper arms, while the lower arm of the tiger is stronger.

People are always going to have their preferences and that's fine. If you're going to argue which animal would "win" in a "fight", then the answer is undeniable if you bother to research it properly. If these two majestic beasts were to meet (and they have, disgustingly, due to men pitting them against one another) then there are three factors you must look at: 1) Size 2)Power 3)Agility

These three factors all lean in the tiger's favour, that's a fact.

No, the tiger is stronger. That's just facts. But the rivalry is stupid. They live in different areas. There is no competition. It's just human stupidity to pin them against each other.
