It's not one of their best songs, but it's got one of the best Middle sections they ever did...totally anthemic and starts about here 2:41

@thewrecker36 You are so wrong! This is actually one of their better records. Killing Joke albums are rarely consistent, with the exception of "Revelations" and "Extremities..." Personally I've always thought "Night time" very overrated, although it does contain a couple of great songs. "What's this for?" and "Fire dances" likewise.

@Paradigmsomehow You forgot "Rubycon"!

BTAS is a great record, but probably too overblown and pompous and overproduced. Would have been great with a bit more guitar in the mix.

A great record, some gorgeous euphoric moments on this album. yeah its an 80s record but there again it was made in the 80s.. . The new one will suprise everyone i'm sure.

To all those who doubt KJ's feelings about this album, Jaz Coleman has stated in many interviews that brighter than a thousand suns is his favourite Killing Joke record. Hard to disagree with him, by far their brightest moment.
Actually, Night Time and Brighter are my favorite Killing Joke albums. I like all their eras, but these two are just too special. They're my all-time favorite band, as well. Second place reserved for New Model Army.

@MisAnnThorpe Fire Dances is definitely not overrated at all. if anything it's underrated and Paul Ferguson definitely did not get the credit he deserves, considering his techniques were revolutionary
