The little boy likes his toy gun. Maybe a little too much, as he is using it indoors! His mom gets angry and sends him out of the house, where he coninues to shoot around. He's aiming for a little bird and kills it. As he sees the little one's mother becry her young, the boy begins to feel remorse. As the birds are holding a funeral it begins to rain. Luckily, the rain is reviving the victim. He is so happy about this that he storms out, destroys his gun and befriends the animals.

I have to say, for a high quality version, this truly is a treat to be enjoyed! And call me creepy for this, but compared to the Public Domain remake, the mother robin's durge during the funeral is rather haunting. I was actually feeling her emotions as well all the other birds.

I really do wish I could remember the VHS tape we use to have. Im young but when I was little my paw paw bought us quality cartoon classics like this. If anyone can remember it please message me. This takes me back when I would sit in my sleeping bag on the floor eating cracker jackers watching these wonderful cartoons.

I swear I cried everytime I watched this as a child-- now I'm 18 and this cartoon still gets to me. It reminds me of my deceased grandmother because we used to watch it together. T_T
