  • This was a very touching video.

I'm making things like this myself, and I wonder if I may use the pic of Bea at 2:16?

I would be very grateful if you let me, and I will show you the finished video.

  • @Skywalker91 sure!

  • Good vid , yes adopt and research b4 for u buy , my nelson came from a home that was unloved , he was even feather plucking , now hes safe with me wouldnt part with him , type in gordypie into youtube to see him ;-)

  • @gordypie how is his feather picking now?

  • Its really really touching video... I do hate people who abuse those wonderful parrots out there... I tried to rescue few in my area from their owners. But all I got is reject. :(

Well.. I miss my little grey, the one who died in my hands because of a disease he got. Now I got another grey, and I don't think I can live without her, she's now part of me, a part that without it I feel that I'm nothing. And I ask everyone who watch this video, to rethink about their parrots! They deserve anything

  • @Balkhi356 what kind of disease? :(

  • love this video however do not buyfrom the Big chain stores At least check out where they are getting their birds i have found them in my area facking hacting certificats and lyeing about their age it is bullshit

  • @Huvagach - I adopted an abused bird I renamed "Penny." She was cagebound and fearful. She gradually would let me scratchher back through the cage bars. Here's a video: /watch?v=1qAiJ7rHcOg

She later made up a kind of peek-a-boo game. I'd say "Where's Penny" and she'd kind of hide. She'd peek out and I'd say "There she is!" She could do this for hours, 'til she'd run over to the bars for a back scratch. Video at: /watch?v=f5lnhb7iEeI

Finally she left the cage: /watch?v=r_5drFwPhMA

  • I adopted a little guy.

    His story is at:

  • My cockatiel is a rescued bird. He's cagebound and after many attempts at letting him out, I deemed it cruelty to continue forcing him if he wanted to stay inside. Instead he has a large cage which I'm always buying him new things for, and we sing, play, and even beak-to-nose through the bars. There's also this strange chase game where he runs after me, then I run after him. Like tag without the contact. Even agoraphobic birds can have fun. So worth adopting a friend, you fall in love so hard.

  • This video really makes me upset how people could do this to an animal. A bird who is suppose to be family.. A friend.. I have 2 cockatiels and wouldnt trade them for anything in the world. I havnt had them real long but there already family to me. Pete is 2 years old and is underweight. Im working with him now to get more weight on him. He says hes a pretty bird :). And he is!

Penny was in much better condition but both need some help trusting people again

  • this video was soo touching. i just bought a parrot 2 days ago off a couple of people who basically left it in the very far corner of there house with no interaction.. i almost cried when i walked through the door to see the gorgeous bird locked up in the TINIEST cage ever.. she could barely turn around in there.. when i brought her home i IMMEDIATLY put her in a massive cage that could fit about three more birds in and shes really happy shes not tame but with love and attention she can trust me

  • We adopted from someone who loved our baby for the first 4 yars of here life.

She is the most spoiled bird in the world and thou we are old and she is young her future is planned out for her to live a long life within one family with people she knows and loves.

I will say this if you take on a parrot with out the same commit you would give a 5 year old child, you should reconsider these are not pes but a part of your family

  • It's difficult to find rescue birds where I live, although I have bought several Cockatiels from pet shops that were less than ideal, including one girl with deformed wings who was being practically given away because she "couldn't fly" - it turned out she was just so malnourished she was too weak to fly. She was only with us for 18 months but she was loved and well-fed and had friends.

Adopting is a wonderful thing to do, and I would do it exclusively if I could.
