A video of the way I've been canning meat for our food storage. I had to laugh when I loaded the jars in the canner and checked the video to see that my memory card was full. Sorry for the incomplete vid. I'll be sure to check my memory next time.

  • Did you check for air pockets, or is that only done if you put liquid in it for a hot pack?

  • @MyFreedomChannel I only check for air when there is liquid in the jar.

  • What size canner is that? I have the 16 qt. Will get the larger one soon.

  • @Allen2045 My canner is 23qts.

  • Thanks for the video. Subscribed to Your Channel. I wanted to buy a pressure canner, but read you could Not use it on a glass top stove. I appears you have a glass top stove... have You seen any problems? I would like to start canning but my stove is a glass top?

  • @lastquest Thank you for subbing to my channel. I haven't had any problems with canning on my glass top stove. I will can about 2 times per week or more. What was it that you heard was the issue?

From the first day, I've been hooked on canning. It has been a lot of fun. I find that we waste less, since our leftovers often end up in canning jars instead of tupperware in the fridge. And my family seems to love the "meals ready to eat".

There are plenty of folks that know more about the subject.

  • @PrepPro2717 Oh okay - you check for air only when using liquids. Understood! :)

  • @lastquest The Presto pressure canners/cookers have a flat bottom. The box says ideal for glass top stoves. At least the newer ones do. The companies that make pressure canners would not want to miss out on any sales because people have glass top stove.....Paula

  • This is the video I was looking for. I have canned chicken and beef stew so far. Will be watching your videos. I also subscribed. Paula
