Here is posting that records the sound of another U.K. band in the early days of the N.O. revival period. Recorded in London, 14th. August 1951, it was made when Ken played for a while with the Christie brothers' band after the break-up of the original Crane River Jazz Band and before its re-formation. The line-up was :- Ken Colyer; cor. Keith Christie; tmb. Ian Christie; clt. Pat Hawes; pno. Denny Coffey; bss. and Bill Colyer; wbd. (Playing "Heebie Jeebies")

  • Thanks for yet another delight! There is always something special when Mr. Colyer was leading; something good! One can feel that when listening to the "Barber" line up, when Colyer was the leader and then the difference when Barber was the leader! Both excellent, though different!
