Written by Pete Ham, "No Matter What" was one of Badfinger's biggest hits. The song was originally released on the Apple Records release, NO DICE.

All I'm doing is playing along to one of my personal favorite rock songs. Do note that, quite close to the end of the song, I did make a number of mistakes but I decided to just go with the one take of the song that I had recorded instead of wasting more of my camcorder's battery power.

For some other great Badfinger songs, look up "Day After Day," "Moonshine," "Timeless," "I'll Be the One," "Icicles," "In the Meantime/Some Other Time" and basically anything else Badfinger ever recorded.

  • Hey, pretty good, mistakes and all. I really like the sound of your guitar/amp, what are you using? Keep playing, you can only get better.

  • @tripleJ1955 Thanks for the comment--I really appreciate of! Anyway, the guitar I used in this video is my Fender Mexican Standard Strat which I got before they started using better parts to make them (for what was a $350 guitar when I got it, I sure do love it). The amp is a Fender Champion 30 30-watt solid state amp which I believe has since been discontinued (there is a 25-watt amp that's almost exactly the same and costs over $100 less than mine when I got it)...

  • @tripleJ1955 ...I also had on a bit of delay (an effect included in that particular amp) to get a little slapback for a couple country improv videos I recorded the same day as this one. Normally, for this song and most rock, blues and jazz, I'd use reverb instead. For distortion, I was using my Boss DS-1 Distortion which, for a $40 pedal, is great. Once again, thank you for the comment and, if you have any other questions regarding any of my videos, feel free to ask!

  • @jmf0st3r001 Thanks for all the comments--I really do appreciate it...also, if you're still learning guitar or if you take it up again (I can't remember whether you said if you stopped trying to learn or not) and you need any help let me know and I'll do my best to help you out. My brother's also a guitar teacher so I can ask him anything I can't give you an answer to myself. And, if he doesn't know, I sue him.
