Wyatt used to be considered nonverbal. I am not sure if he is still considered to be or not. Here he is babbling to himself in the mirror. I hope you can hear it. I couldn't get any closer because if he knew I was watching him, he would have run off to his room.

During the past few months, he has started to say more and more words. He can repeat a lot of what we say but he doesn't speak conversationally yet.

  • my autistic sons like mirrors too...

  • @S4ndy71 Yes....it seems like most of them do. ;)

  • My son is five and autistic. he is also non verbal. he coos and babbles sometimes, im impressed with him everyday. good luck with your son.

  • @nicholaswlandry Thank you for your comment and good luck with your son too!

  • You shouldn't be too worried, because he could be really smart. It turns out that really smart kids talk later than other kids, because there's so much going on in their heads or because they're ashamed they say something wrong, or his abilities lie somewhere else, like in maths or something. The smartest people in the world where late talkers, did you know that?

  • @Mirjam091 This video was taken nearly a year ago but Wyatt is no longer considered nonverbal! Yay! He talks so much now just not conversationally yet. You can check out my other videos to see how far he has come this past short year. :)

  • @mannyroga33 Awww....thanks so much for your kind words! :D

  • I respectfully suggest that all here should read the books "Late Talking Children" and "Einstein Syndrome", both Thomas Sowell. These might be very helpful
