this video has been uploaded solely for exemplary reasons, to be watched from the respective users of the renoise.com forums.
it is not supposed to entertain, shock or mesmerize.
(even though some of you might think it does :))

Renoise Version: 2.0 Release Candidate 3
VSTi plugin used: Korg Polysix
PC specs: Intel Core2Quad Q9550@4x4.1Ghz
Audio interface: EMU 1212m, ASIO, 10ms

please note:
the performance differences to be witnessed from cycling through the different core modes does not reflect "realworld scenerio" performance, as the example xrns used here does not use any send routings or effect chains which would negatively influence performance gain of of a multithreaded environment.

  • If using a more efficient synth like Synth1 you could get way more going :)

  • lol :D

  • i guess he was being ironic ;-)

  • Uhhh, what chord progression? It's just one note.

  • the more voices, the more CPU load. and i guess that's what this test is all about.

so with 64 instances of the synth playing 6 voices each, there are 384 voices to be calculated in realtime.

and unision mode is nothing which stands in direct relation to analog gear. it merely makes an instrument sound "fatter", by detuning the respective amount of voices in unision against each other.

  • ah, more unisono voices does not make a digital based synth any better, does it?

  • I was wondering how you got your hands on RC4. Cool vid!

  • yep, i dl RC3 yesterdayk, that is rocks...

i hope all Renoise users a buy one legal copy this awesome software. chers Fanta/Hotelsinus
