@watcher0104 Absolutely! Because of the free-trade and the subsidies that governments gives for their domestic farmers, for instance the US and the EU, larger incentives is given for farmers in Mexico and in Africa to use pesticies and other fertilizers to enhance the yield of the crops, and that is damaging the ecosystems locally. Fairtrade is the solution. Pitty that the world hasn´t noticed that yet...

Fair trade contributes to cotton farmers in developing countries in many ways: helping their income, motivating themselves and so on. Fair trade cotton doesn't also have a burden on environment (other cotton are used chemicals, so much burden on the ecological system), making sustainable development. I think this trade should be supported by many people all over the world.
