    There are actually several different "volcanoes" that are part of Crater Lake. If you look at the Phantom Ship, it is the oldest volcanic rock, from an eruption prior to Mazama's collapse. I'm not sure what part of the volcano you are referring to as still being able to see? Do you mean Wizard Island? Because that is a separate cone volcano, not part of the Mazama eruption of 6,000 years ago.
