Wulf & Eadwacer is an Anglo Saxon poem composed between 960 and 990 AD. Of famously difficult interpretation, it has been variously characterised, (modernly) as an elegy, (historically) as a riddle, and (in speculation on the poem's pre-history) as a song or ballad with refrain. The only extant copy is found in the Exeter Book.

The translation of this poem is one of the most difficult of the old English poetry because nobody knows who wrote it, who´s the speaker and what´s the story behind it. This is 1 of the most favoured translations though.
What I am unsure of is his pronunciation. For example, letter "f" in old En. was pronounced "v" between 2 vowels or voiced conson. Hence "gife" should be pronounced "give". That´s only a really basic 1, I´m surprised that someone who likes old En. doesn´t know it.

Marvellous reading. Im a bit unsure of accuracy of the translation though. Not only was it written in Old English (Anglo Saxon) language but it was also written in obscure words for the time it was written.
