@PS3sucks4life I'm at almost 45 hours and 10 megs of savesize in this very vid. Close enough to "over 40 hours" for you? :)

It isn't any faster because the data that's being loaded is on the disk so it's limited by the speed of the bluray drive. Now if the game file was in the ssd I'm sure the load times would be much quicker.

Why arent the load screens faster? Isnt thatdirectly related to the hard drive?
-
@asutroll I still don't get it. You can sit in a couch, too, if you on PC.

1. Connect your PC to your TV
2. ???
3. Profit
But yeah I dunno why people argue about consoles vs PC... I have a PC, a PS3 and a Wii and I think people should just buy what they want. Not what some elitist on the forum says :)

it almost loads as fast as my old 500gb HARD drive :D
-
I get faster speeds on my HDD. Not sure if its the console limitations are work here.
-
@mellowcowism Yeah I use a wireless adapter and play with my xbox 360 controller. And the mods make it simply GOTY.

could you tell me what ps3 you have? (i.e slim or fat) because i have my ps3 playing skyrim on a ps3 with an hdmi cable and a hdtv it is the slim one 160gb and the graphics are WAY i mean WAY WAY WAY worse than the ones on the video. like its all polygons and stuff could you tell me how i could make the graphics better? like is there a setting on the ps3 or something?
-
i think teh more you play it the faster it goes
lololololol what you cant afford a good gaming computer? (Skyrim PC graphics are boss)

@696alucard @696alucard I get to sit in a couch, you get to sit in a chair. I like playing Skyrim long periods of time. Enough said. :)

Hey Asuka, it's dubq from the Bethesda forum. I can't get on that site from work so I figured I'd send you a comment here. What do you think about TRIM when it comes to SSD's on the PS3? The PS3 doesn't support TRIM so, if I'm understand it correctly, after a while the speed of the SSD will reduce due to collected garbage data that hasn't been wiped.
dubq 3 months ago
@dubq Yep, the top speed will be reduced somewhat, but it's the topspeed of the drive and not the SATA controller since the block happens on the actual drive itself, therefore the bottleneck will still be the PS3s SATA controller and even without TRIM etc. the drive will run as fast as that SATA controller will let it. It's just too much excess speed for it to be noticable. :)

@asutroll Hi, I have 2 questions which model is the harddrive u use? I'm thinking of swapping my old HDD with a new one and the other one is as of today have u experienced lag issues after patching? and how big is ur savefile?
afflores 3 months ago
@afflores The savefile is in the vid :P but atm with some more played it's at over 12 megs. It's more or less the same after the patch, I haven't noticed much change. The SSD in my PS3 is an intel series 320. I've also tried with the intel series 510 that I usually keep in my PC and that works just fine as well. The 320 in my PS3 is at 80 gigs.
