A montage of commercial work created by David Daniels using his original clay-based stratacut technique. For a great deal of info (as well as more video) on this fascinating art style see this interview with Daniels from June 2009:

  • i love his work and am always in awe of his ability. great stuff

  • awsome it almost gave me a sesure

  • @StrateauX What about a mix of both? The Bonaroo 2009 lineup video is kind of like this mixed with 2D Animation. The technique is known as Stratastencil. (Both are 4D Animations if you think about it...)

  • incredible, never seen this before, just discovered it now, I am really amazed.

  • @prammaven I'm not huge on it, I'm more of a 2-D drawing kinda person myself. XD Of course though, if ever given a chance at Laika - I'd love stop motion.

  • Wow, it's Michael Jackson looking even MORE plastic! Never thought I'd see the day! Good animation technique. Clever.

  • My animation teacher has a framed slice of his work and it's of that dollar at 2:19. He lives here in Portland so someday I might bump into him in the animation industry. :O
