  • They'll actually work if someone ignores this and hooks it up the same as the old version, but the starter will stay engaged a few seconds after letting off the key.

    The newer style is called a PMAG ( permanent magnet)starter and all from 3.8/5.0/5.8 and the 4.9 six interchange.

  • i just got one, tho. i just ran the wire to the main power lead that comes off the current solenoid.. worked for me

  • this is ridiculous man my ford truck has gone through 3 starters since ive owned it..ive had it for about 2 months now.... i had the one that came with it..anyother one from the junk yard then i stole the one off my 66 mustang im gonna get one of these new ones too
