Part 2 of righting and re-entering my Hobie Pro Angler. This time in some tough conditions. Conditions I wouldn't normally go out in.

  • Well done again Daz!! Have you thought of taking a bailing pump to see if you can bail out a majority of the water before attempting reentry??

  • @gtxrally - I was at Scott Lovigs the other day and saw a hand bilge pump that he had fitted to his competition PA. He will be using it to pump fresh water into a live well, but it would double nicely in an emergency to pump water out of the hull.

  • hope you left your phone at home where it is safe this time Rhino.

  • @no1RH1NO - Safe and sound buddy.

  • Great video. The thumbnail looked like a skydiving video lol. Just goes to show how easily things can go wrong. Hopefully this saves some lives.

  • @mealsy - I see what you mean about the thumbnail. Thanks mate. :-)

  • Great Vid mate

I just got a little kayak, looking forward to Port Phillip .

I appreciate the effort you put into your video. great job !

might see you in the bay.

  • Thanks for sharing the video. As a rule of thumb I never exit the kayak on the downstream side of waves. This prevents a rouge wave from hurling the kayak in to me. A friend of mine rides a Hobie PA here in Hawaii and anytime there is a swell he has to pump out the front hatch.

  • Always good to practice this drill at least once. Cheap hand bilge pump might be something to consider, though rough conditions might prevent opening hatch on open water. I attached one in my hull and left it there.

  • @IceManDude21 - Yeah, theres s bit there Craig, but there is a fix.

  • @COBALTGRUV - Thanks, you too.
