The Vietnam leg of the torch relay was to begin on Tuesday outside Ho Chi Minh City's 19th century opera hall, but authorities have not revealed the relay's route, apparently for security reasons.

In recent days, Vietnamese students have used Web sites and blogs to call for protests against China's claim to the disputed Spratlys islands. The islets in the South China Sea are claimed by Vietnam, China, Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia and Brunei.

  • You better shut up your fucking mouth,SN. You are not Vietnamese, shame on you and your father will be ashame having a son like you.

  • There is a lesson for all Xizang ethnic minorities (Tibetans) that 99.999% of the world's population believed that Xizang province (Tibet in English) is a part of China. The 2008 Beijing Olympics Games had been very, very successful and the Best in History. It made many billions of people in this world Happy. On the other hand, all those people who tried to disrupt the Beijing Olympics, had been Unsuccessful and many are feeling ashamed about their cowardly actions now.

  • Get over it that was the past. Same land but different owner. Cambodian can not get back "Kmer Krom from Vietnam! Watch youtube ,the history of Thailand &Cambodia; both claimed use to own half of Vietnam. My father Vietnamese and my mother half Chinese. I do not mind who own the islands. who own it , is no proof at all . I would rather believe China own it by her old civilized powerful empire more than thousand yrs, but is perfect when both countries can share the resource.

  • China should get the fuck out of Tibet and give back all the land, sea and islands they took from Vietnam. All the world hate China, no matter what how China is defending, Tibet is a country and not belong to the red China.

  • "My heart goes out to the Tibetans. Please never give up. It will be a long, hard fight but I believe you all will have your independence back. May it be soon. History is on your side: the invaders would be kicked out crying like babies. "

there is a difference between truth/facts and what u think u know

  • My heart goes out to the Tibetans. Please never give up. It will be a long, hard fight but I believe you all will have your independence back. May it be soon. History is on your side: the invaders would be kicked out crying like babies.

  • Hey dmtau use Chinese characters, they formed an important part of your otherwise laughable and insignificant history you Viet fuck.

  • Just shut up.

  • Vietnamese: I don't care what you write. Vietnam Torch is over. If you want to protest about Vietnamese who have no money to buy rice, welcome to China. Dou Ma!!

  • pwangchuk: I belong to 80th generation, so I never experience culture revolution. According to older chinese, they all feel the current chinese government are very different than 40-60 years ago. Mr. Wu is third chairman after 1989. He should not be responsible for the prior chairmen's problems. Mr. Bush would never need to go to jail for Clinton's mistakes. Most of Chinese are happy about their lives. China's human right has improve a lot in 60 years. Chinese will be better no matter what.
