  • its slow because his pc sux usually if there was no physx the frame rate would drop like crazy once at alot of boxes start flying

  • My PC sucks, I do not denie it.

    But no HW acceleration for physic is used here.

    Otherwise the frame rate would be much higher.

  • Of course we can see freezing, it is a real time 3D/physic engine, not a rendering tool like 3DSMax.

  • Eh, its physics - not fantasy island. Objects have mass - thats the whole point....

  • While fun object collision isn't too hard for CPUs, pretty much any sub modern CPU can run that collision simulation.

    However realistic liquid, smoke, cloth and procedural object damage are the real CPU performance killers. Once fully utilised it is these areas I believe PhysX will shine the most and prove its worth in bringing realism to games, not in mass collision detection gimmicks like CellFactor.
