ECCELLENTE ,
Bravissimo :-))))

Agreed :)

Lately I´ve been so tired of listening to amazing but confused steel string players who think that it´s all about how fast and how proficient in technique they are. This helps me remember that it´s all about the melody...

i am personally also a tommy emmanuel fan, but once players get to this level is it really possible to say who is better than the other? it all depends on your taste in music.
-
add saltwater and questions to that list.

I dont know what use you guys see in comparing artists, they are all talented in their own right. What is the use of comparing? You would not compare BB King to Josh Groban, so why compare these guys?

Tommy Emmanuel has the best 'touch' on the steel strings i have ever heard. Listen to Questions (the second one down...) I do'nt think he puts technical difficulty ahead of melody... he does add his little slides / accents at certain notes.. it's just how he plays. I wonder what these masters (like oshio) sound like when they're just messin round with nobody lookin ?? !!! they're awesome.

That's True,He Does Have A Tendency 2 Go Overboard But He Has A Few Songs Like Angelina,Those Who Wait,Or Since We Met Which Are Just As Beautiful As This Piece.
And I Am Sorry For Having Offended You And Your Personal Opinion...

Nothing? That's a little harsh, isn't it? Like my comment,my personal opinion is Tommy Emmanual sometimes sacrifices melody for technical difficulty. His music is too busy & overplayed for my personal tastes.
I put the amazing Kotaro Oshio above all other acoustic steel string guitar players. He limits his use of tapping & other classical techniques in a way that compliments his beautiful melodies without over shadowing them.
