A hidden world revealed: the surface of Titan

The Cassini spacecraft has been used to make a global multicolor map of Saturn's giant moon Titan -- bigger than Mercury! -- for the first time. Detecting infrared light which can penetrate the thick atmosphere, Cassini's observations were painstakingly constructed into this map of nearly the entire surface of Titan. You can see vast regions of dunes (brown), elevated areas (white), and hints of methane lakes near the north pole.
[NOTE: In the video I say this is the first global map; in fact it's the first *multicolor* global map. A global map was made in 2009 here: http://www.ciclops.org/view/5492/Map_of_Titan_February_2009]
