The goal of my previous Yellow Ledbetter video was to try to capture the sound of Mike's live electric renditions of this song... at least how they sounded to me when I've seen them live...

While I still enjoy my 1st rendition, for better or worse, various people felt that it was too distorted for its own good...

Well, here's my new take on the song for all those distortion-adverse viewers out there. It's a slimmed down version of the song played on my acoustic layered with a short solo I came up with inspired by one of PJ's Bridge School Benefit concert renditions.

As usual, the song is far from perfect. Enjoy!

  • love your solo man.

  • @blaz3007 - Thanks! The feedback is always much appreciated :-)

  • Did you play the rythm too? Or was it someone else. If it was you. You did a great job with the mix. And the playing also

  • Yep, the two tracks you hear were both recorded and mixed by me using a simple-to-use (and free) program called Audacity.

Thanks for watching and for the feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed the tune :-)

  • It was nice to find someone who could play this song so well on a acoustic. Fantastic job on the riffs that are easier played on a electric... Also I like the sound of your acoustic guitar, so what if I want to know what brand it is? Why would anybody buy a guitar just to play one song ? I thought Pearl Jam wrote this but now I know this guy wrote it . (wink wink)

  • Thanks for the feedback. It's always great to read that someone has enjoyed my vids :-)

As for the guitar, it's a cheap early 1990s Yamaha fg-400a. I don't think it sounds as nice as my newer Masterbilt that I use on my more recent videos, but, for the price, that Yamaha is hard to beat.
