@Chacha5678 "I don't get why you're so hung up about this movie" Then you are not a fan. A fan would understand why someone would be obsessed with putting an end to this new series started with the worst sci-fi film of all time. I don't get why people like you keep trying to defend it when you know you can't. This is like a murder is on trial & the prosecutor has 5 camera angles, 5 eye witnesses, DNA evidence & fingerprints proving the crime. But you keep insisting he is innocent.

@Chacha5678 My brother wrote a wonderful script. The story involved the Enterprise becomming alive just like data, but decided it did not want to obay the crew. He sold it to the TNG team for 1200 dollars and they used his idea in 2 episodes with out giving him any credit. My Brother never wrote again.

@Chacha5678 I'm not mad period. I'm quite sane! But you are mad "I can't think of anything that went wrong in the film". Forget for a second that it has the name Star Trek. The hero is a punk cadet who assaulted his superior officer twice, went AWL, was insubordination to everyone he met but still got promoted to Captain strait from cadet because he saved earth only once & out of pure luck. It sounds like a pilot for a cartoon series in the 70's.

@Chacha5678 First off Nero was not interested in power all he cared about was avenging a death that has not happened and could be easily stopped. This is what is known as a Saturday morning cartoon plot or Batman TV 1963 plot device. It's campy over the top and POINTLESS. Nero was only interested in getting revenge on the very people who tried to save his planet. He was not planning to save his planet. I know I have the movie (gift from a non trek fan friend).

@Trekfreek I don't get why you're so hung up about this movie. You're mad because you perceive it to have nothing to do with politics? This movie got a lot of new fans into Trek, and pleased many of the old fans. I can't think of anything that went wrong in the film, I loved it

@Trekfreek do you know that 'politics' has multiple definitions? "any activity concerned with the acquisition of power, gaining one's own ends, etc" would apply here. And Nero was planning on saving his own planet. He just wanted to get rid of the other federation planets in retaliation, because he thought Romulans would be better off on their own. And what happened to your brother? and if it can't get to the filmmakers, then write fanfic, and if it's so amazing it will sell millions

@Chacha5678 How was Nero's stupidity of not knowing that he could save his whole planet now that he is in the past Political? "if you think you could have written a better movie, then submit your script to the filmmakers" and have them screw me over the way they screwed my brother NO WAY!
