You really ought to give it a try man. Has a really nice feel to it and definitely has some carryover to any kind of one-hand deadlifting you might want to test yourself on. Some of the best thumbless-grip one-hand deadlifters are also the best one-hand deadlifters with a hook grip, and without.

Great stuff Ben, never thought of using a thumbless grip for the dead. May be just what I need! Cheers

Thanks Paul! It's really one of those lifts where a weight will feel easy and then you go up 10lbs and it's suddenly welded to the platform.

looked easy for you - you got ten more no prob - congrats!

Nice lift, will try thumbless grip def next time, used just the normal grip, cant do the hook thingie at all. 110kg is my best with right hand with official powerlifting bar (28mm thick).

Thanks Adam, you've got a solid deadlift (mid-500s+) so you will do well on this lift. Do you keep a public training log?
