@harrisonconstantinou Problem is, its a small island, so if they did direct flights to, lest say, the Eastern coast of the US or Canada, there's a lack of demand for those destinations. Places like Athens and London on the other hand, have more demand, enough for their planes, hence why they go there :)
actully all around cyprus there big coutries like greece tuckey, etc
they dont need long range planes now of the logest fight that cyprus airways do in from larnaca to london heathrow and dont forget that cyprus is a small island
yea but Cyprus Airways have brought Airbus Products since 1989 i dont see them replacing an already new aircraft A330 with a boeing type. Also has anyone noticed this but Cyprus Airways arnt buying new aircraft like the new A319 it is leased as are the A330sThey only own 1 A319 and 6 A320s as 5B-0DAU is to be retired.
lol if they really wanna get somewhere they should buy an a340 and travel across the altantic to the US or even or asia and indonesia! i wish they had money to just buy an a380 and do whatever they want!
Since Cyprus Airways sold their subsidairy eurocypria to the Government for 13.45,000 to the government a lot of changes have happened. Eurocypria are now a well respected airline in cyprus operating a modern fleet of 737-800W. I have flown on the airline and i have found it very enjoyable. On the other hand Cyprus Arways may never expant into the US market because it may not be a very popular destination from Cyprus
