@Concionator This doesn't look like the 8600M GT "Bumpgate" problem; it's likely a broken/loose LVDS cable.

I had more Acer computers, they are good, but since now (Acer Aspire 7720G issues) I will choose other mark (Dell, Toshiba... with better quality and perfect service. "I have got not enough money to buy cheap things."

@yatesey94 Yes, many people had the same problem. It is something with NVIDIA 8600M GT in this concrete computer, but Acer says nothing to this case. And Windows Vista only "helps" to overheating. Nice and powerful computer, but bad graphic card.

Yes, It used to overheat quite often when running heaving processes like video compression, especially after replacing the 2 gig ram with 4

Yes I found a solution: Send it back to Acer and have them repair it. It's a hardware issue. I managed to get this in just before the warranty ended. On a side note, I am now completely fed up with Acer due to the many issues I've had an am having with this machine. I will not buy Acer again anytime soon, and am looking forward to getting this one replaced.

About 8 months after Acer fixed the issue it's back again. Good thing I have a Macbook now!
