  • youre kiddin me right? U still believe in that school boy stuff?, democracy, 2 parties, apple pie, even after obama gets hilary mitchell and holbrook from clinton to run his fp, and geithner from bush-ny fed to run the economy? I hear Volkers is advising too. what a joke. blue v. red, dem, v. rep. its one party, same stuff, different faces for the idiots who vote fo the candidates they already chose in the primaries. u no obama just bombed paikistan, using gages from bush too. ha ha.I; good 1.

  • Ecothearcy, you are nuts if you think Obama is doing more harm than the Republican administration that preceeded him. And by looking at your channel page you do indeed seem to be nuts.

If you want to spend your energy, work on reforming the Rebublican party first. Once they have been redeemed, then you can start pointing the finger back at the dems.

    Good luck finding a clue.

  • Barbara Lee for President in 2016 !!!

I can't thank you enough Congresswoman Lee. You are one of a very small minority in Washington that truly represent the people.

Here is another simple way to pay for this bailout: Implement a 0.25% (quarter of a percent) tax on all stock sales and purchases.

Let wall street pay their own way out of this mess. They got us into it, let them pay their way out. This tax would raise 100 billion a year while simultaneously reducing speculation trades.

  • Why don't we take that money and use it to create green jobs. That would bail out the economy and the environment at the same time. Weatherizing every building in the country, making, installing and servicing solar and wind, manufacturing and servicing electric cars, building and running mass transit, redoing the country's infrastructure to make it green, re-greening the landscape, fostering organic agriculture, building green buildings.

  • There are very few congresspeople that I feel speak for me, and it's a beautiful thing that a woman in far-off California has (although quite unwittingly) made herself representative for a political outcast such as myself. Keep doing what you do; you may hated for it, you will be ridiculed for it, but you're eternally admired for it.

  • Dear Barbara,

I am your loyal constituent and wrote you an e-mail asking you to oppose the bailout. Is there anyway you could convince that deadbeat no talent, Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, to resign...and while your at it, have her take that old geezer who never has anything intelligent or constructive to say, Harry Reid, with her? They both need to resign and let some younger competent people with passion take their place. I'd greatly appreciate it if you could accomodate me.

  • Bail out Main St, And Wall St will win, long term.

  • cont..... And then everyone wins, well for a little while anyhow.

If the money goes directly to Wall ST. I think the middle to low income earners will suffer, while the banks, take care of their "high value customers".

  • Why not Take that 700B dollars, and pay a portion of the mortgages that are overdue.

So Say, you house cost 300K and was affordable at 5% interest. Why not have the Govt. Pay 150K off your home, and the economy can keep going for a little while longer. If banks are still getting their money, there shouldn't be a credit crunch, in Wall St. so the banks will still get their money, you will keep your house. After all, I'm sure 30years of Tax will pay back the balance to the people anyhow.

  • !!!Thank you Barbara Lee!!!
