How to play "Heal Over" by KT Tunstall. Shows you the chords. I heard it for the first time yesterday, so I didn't get much practice in chord transitions to the difficult E chord.

  • The E chord is a Eadd2 or E add9 (i also play is (024100). And The B+ is not a B+, it's a B11.

  • Great tutorial, very well done, although I would agree with eggymoo that the first chord is not E diminished but is in fact E9 (without a 7th).

That chord pattern is rather unconventional and took me a bit of practice to be able finger it quickly. Just goes to show what an innovative little lady Katie is. Love her.

  • You seem to be playing it right, but it's not E diminished - that would have a flat 3rd (G natural) and a flattened 5th (Bb). The chord is E maj (add9) TAB 096900. Great song all the same...

  • YAY!! is one of my FAVORITE songs, im not a great guitarist, but i think ill have to learn this one! Thanks for posting!! you are a genius!

  • BRILLIANT!!, but that Edim's a killer...me' hand hurts!! (how's KT manage to play it, she's only got little hands!?)

  • Hey mate, great stuff. Only suggestion is that the alternate chords aren't A then D but actually Cmaj then D. Otherwise bang on.

  • my dad knows KTs brother :D

  • WOW! All honour to you my friend for posting this knowledge so freely and bring so much glee to a guitarists dark times!

Here is a link to a tune I also love - can you apply your wondefully clear visual way of explaining how to play those jazz chords featured pls?

You will always have a friend in London to look up!

  • great tutorial. Thanks for taking the time to post this.

  • Thanks for this! Wow, I have even more respect for her now. I'm a dude with relatively short fingers so this is really hard for me. It's going to take a lot of practice.
