  • Ah, one day I hope to get there. So far Loch Ness is as far as I have gotten.

  • As a Shetlander I hope I live to see Shetland break free from Scotland, even perhaps go back to Norway.

I'm so proud that my parents have a family tree which goes back to Norse ancestors. I'm no pict or scotsman....

We have only one mainland and that's the one Lerwick is on. Everything south of Sumburgh/Fair Isle is Scotland.

I hope you enjoyed your holiday!!.

  • EXCELLENT THANKS FOR SHARING

  • Great video; thanks for posting it!

  • Your voice sounds weird as fuck!!!

  • We had the lovely opportunity to visit Shetland in September 2009. We came in by cruise ship and had a beautiful sunny day - at least while we were on the island! Thank you for posting your video - brought back many lovely memories of a most beautiful place. The beauty of Shetland was outdone only by the wonderful people we met along the way.

  • yea but not all words that begin with J lol

  • Great story of Da Auld Rock

One peerie tip (small tip); 'J's are pronounced as 'Y's. Jalrlshoff is 'Yarlshoff'.

To confuse you guys further, one of the boats you may have travelled on is MV Hjaltland ( pronounced Yaltland)!

Fantastic to see such enthusiasm from the 'new world' to the old world.

Any consolation, I am Edinburgh born and bred; moved here years past and still learning!

    Take care

    Steno

    Scatness, Sumburgh, Shetland

  • I hope you enjoyed your time in Shetland!

I go home in 3 weeks really cannot wait!

    xXx
