I remember making these when I was a kid but when the "pancake" is cooking, we used these black little seeds and dropped a pinch over the top of the wet side while the other was cooking and then flipped them over. Do you know what those were and if so, why don't you use them too?

@luxxjunkie , the black seeds are "Nigella seeds". i am not sure how to use it while you are cooking it because when cooking this type of pancakes you do not flip it, it cooks only on one side until the bubbles on the top side burst. i guess when they are filled with nuts or cheese you may sprinkle some Nigella seeds on them before baking. good luck if you try them.
