  • The real Mr. Bojangles was Bill "Bojangles" Robinson. An American tap-dancer who rarely used his upper body in his dance, and showed his audience impressive skills with his fast legs and expressive face.

A one of a kind actor.

  • er....by the way....comparing astair to davis is like comparing an eagle flying to a cheetah running......what is the point?

  • @ShaytanBozorg NO WILL YOU JUST STOP BEING AN IGNORANT AND EDUCATE YOURSELF, YOU THINK JUST BECAUSE YOU CURSE AT SOMEONE YOU HAVE PROVED A POINT, BUT YOUR STILL JUST AN IGNORANT HICK. YOU DON"T LIKE WHAT I SAID DON"T READ IT!

  • @Gowardh, will you shut the fuck up? Jeezus

  • @Ostenob, relax.

bojangles was apprently astire's ispriation and someone astire looked up and apprently had bojangles as an influence. im not saying it i just read it

  • I know people are saying that this isn't appropriate because the songs about Bill "Bojangles" Robinson but that's just not true. It's very fitting as the song's about a white tap dancer Jeff Walker met in prison in New Orleans and not Bill Robinson. Love the song, the story behind it and of course the fantastic Mr Fred Astaire! Thank you LisaLaLisa92!

  • nice video.

  • poor vocals

  • @Ostenob According to the wikipedia, Jeff Walker, the writer of the song, indicated that "he was inspired to write the song after an encounter with a street performer in a New Orleans jail and does not refer to the famous stage and movie personality Bill "Bojangles" Robinson. Walker said while in jail for public intoxication in 1965, he met a homeless white man who called himself "Mr. Bojangles" to conceal his true identity from the police."
