my grandma was metis from quebec- she tanned hides/ carved designs in leather- just beautiful- using hides for fur makes it easier than all the wool work- i made a hand spinner from vranch to spin thick rope of wool- sit on floor while working cooking- less tiring-really works & easy

Lovely. I am learning to spin on a Navajo spindle while my loom waits for my
first little rug. I appreciate her patience and repitition so the learner could catch
what she was doing. A life well lived, contributing beauty.

Rest in peace Grandmother. Her knowledge and Skills as a Masterweaver will be continued thru all Navajo Weavers and be a inspiration for all weavers.
