I'm so glad i stumbled upon your vid, im on my 5th month of accutane (final month) and i've noticed my hair is shedding BAD lately, it's soo thin and I'm sad haha. Good to know it grows back :)

hey i have a question im gonna be starting accutane hopefully within the next week cause my doctors appointment is in two days then i just have to wait to get it from my pharmacy but because like your not really supposed to go in the sun how was that for you having to be on it in the summer? also i herd something about people getting blackheads on their noses? did that happen to you? and did the medicine make you get blemishes in places you didnt normally get them before going on it?

@iheartquestonmark13 during the summer it was kind of tough to be extra conscientious about protecting myself from the sun, but it's really important to because the medication makes you a lot more susceptible to sunburn, which is annoying, but just be sure to put on lots of sunscreen or just hang out in the shade. I haven't really heard of blackheads as a symptom, but i didn't notice anymore than usual. And the only place i noticed "extra" spots was on my neck, but it was only 2 or 3 Good luck!

hey thanks for getting back to me, well hes being started today, in the skin clinic in 2 hours, im not sure as yet how high a dose thy will put him on im guessing theyl start him on 20mg's?? Its just all the stuff about suicides while on this that has me scared, but hes already really down about his skin so i dont think it will do him any harm, gonna give it a go anyways, il let ya know how hes doing :) thanks again

well your skin looks great. How severe was your acne when you started taking accutane? I just started taking accutane 40mg but im a little scared that my acne will come back because my acne is not very severe, only a couple of cysts on my chin.

@laura81stev They will probably start him off on a lower mg, then work up to a higher dosage if they find that necessary. The side effects are definitely manageable and are more of a risk to girls anyways becasue of birth deformaties. I think that if he has cystic acne, accutane is definitely a good choice if all other choices have failed. He'll do fine! Once both of you see the results, you'll be glad he went on it! good luck!

hey , my 12 year old son has cysit acne and has had it for well over a year now hes been on antibiotics and creams that have done nothing, now they want to put him on accutane starting tomorrow but im so scared of all the side effects esp with him only being 12 (hes 5 foot 6) he doesnt look 12 at all youd think he was 15 at least, is there any advice u can give me, is it a bad idea tp put him on it so young?? any feedback greatly appreciated, thanks, im sooo scared!! hes fine about it tho!!
