Vespa SS 1965

Vespa 180 SS, 1965 - It marked a new milestone in the growth of the engine (181.14 cc), with 10 bhp for a top speed of 105 km/h. The 180 SS (Super Sport) replaced the glorious GS 150/160 cc. Piaggio modified the front cowling, making it more aerodynamic and significantly improving comfort, handling and roadholding.

BEAUTIFUL SS!! BOUGHT ONE IN 1965 BUT IN RED REGISTRATION FGY 22C, CAME OF IT THE VERY FIRST DAY YANKED ON THE HANDBRAKE AND OFF I CAME, LESSON LEARNED.

I had a silver ts 125 in 1982. It was faster than my p150x at the time but the front forks and brakes were too soft. I used to ride it to Arbroath and Dundee and it never missed a beat.

I did a bad bad thing and chopped it in 1984 into a skelly. I still wake up at night with flashbacks and nightmares screaming.
