@enzomaidana You're wrong, most of us aren't. When it comes to pricing, it can cost £60 for removing malware but you're forgetting that we have to make a living as well as pay for overheads and staff if we're running a shop. You'll find that trainee technicians like myself are generally more reasonable because a lot of us don't have our own place to pay for and we want to establish a customer base.

He's charging a massive amount but then he's also taking the high performance parts out of this computer, so he could've made about 500 on it. I can't believe that he actually thought he'd get away with this, eventually he was always going to get caught. Car mechanics do this all the time... they offer the most lucrative solution rather then fixing the simple things first. But you have to be sensible. And not using a wrist-strap to protect against ESD, how criminal! lol

I hate Techs like that. I'm a computer repair tech and this video showing this dude ripping people off pisses me off. You have to love the work you do and hold on to that passion and always tell the truth to your clients no matter what.

No, we are not scum or cheats, watch what you are saying, this is not polite. And one screwdriver and USB stick IS all a good PC repairman needs. If you want, you can have a power supply tester with you as well.In my 15 years of practice I never had a problem with cables and with a right screwdriver you can check the cables as well, or carry a spare power cable with you in a car.

anyone notice the guy how fast he went into the house lol, starting from the way he parked so he gets in quicker.

I fix computers - the tools I use one screw driver and a usb stick no need for a "tool kit" :)

@gohan2091 No tools at all?
You dont know what you saying mate.
Least you need to bring along a tester to check the cables if the pc isnt working at all.
30% of domicile repair have to do either with that or the power source.
If this video its true (which I doubt) then that guy should be in prison.
PC guys are cheats and scum the world over yes, but so is TV people.
Peace, respekt,
west side.

See Ram Car Sales (Bham ) for more Rogue Traders !
I would never let anyone in my house that didn't show up with some sort of tool-kit or tools for the job. That's a huge red-flag right off the bat!

I am not a PC repairman but I know what is required. To fix a PC, you need to first inspect it so all you need is your eyes, no tools are required. Often, the fault lies within the software rather than hardware so again, no tools required. It makes no sense to bring a toolbox without first inspecting the PC.
If hardware is to blame, new hardware needs to be purchased, no toolbox needed for that job, not until you get the new part, then you may need a screwdriver, that's about it!

My Top Tips would be:
Open your PC case so you know whats in there before letting anyone loose inside (Take a Picture with your digital camera and compair with after)
Get your IT guy to do a diagnostic test in home (They can run a CD to do a Burn-In set of tests on your hardware, if they are decent tech).
When you get your PC back always check to see what has been changed or touched or missing.
Have the guy return all parts removed or changed and dont let them keep hold of anything.

@MrRackmount
Well the top tip there is to make sure the guy returns the broken parts (and make sure these parts are actually yours)
