@littlemckay It's going to take a boost in education and then another generation or two to get a better religious balance. That's just my two cents. And I'm talking from experience: I went to school in the US and upon moving to UK, I was told I'd have to be put back 1-2 years to compensate (thankfully I was a dweeb who did a lot of extracurricular study and passed the tests so I didn't have to do that).

"Why is the US more religious than other industrialised countries?" Personally, I think one reason is poor education. Poor school education (some schools still teach creation science!!!) and then extremely expensive tuition costs for further education means that the education standard is unfortunately low in many parts of the US. The more educated a person, the more open they become to the idea that science trumps archaic books of fiction, but not every kid gets that far!

I think it's interesting that you make excuses for Obamas religious beliefs, and your grandmothers religious beliefs, but Ron Paul doesn't get the same leniency. You say "he's just playing politics" and "my Gmoms an old lady, what do you expect"...... Well let me remind you that Ron Paul is a 76 year old republican in Texas. Realistically he would be sacrificing whatever little election chance he has if he were to speak out against religion.

There's myriad reasons to want to slap Obama in the mouth, and there's a fair number on the actual left who feel the same. However, if this whole bloc neglects to vote for him, the US (and by extension the rest of the world) may be in far bigger trouble. For the love of all that is good in us, don't you fuck us over.

Pt. 3. How are people influenced by you? Look at the G.O.P. and what they Say, they'll cut "Medicad and Medicare", Social S. cut back the regulations on "Wall St.", the regulations on the E.P.A. etc. ANYTHING that is in our best intrest to have including the infrastructure the we need repaired but bacause the G.O.P {Say's} "get him out" the G.O.P followers overlook cutting off thier own nose's dispite their face's.
