@speer320 Nowadays, the source content that radio stations use are MP3s. Radio sounded a lot better in the days when the radio stations would make a scene over their use of compact disks. Vinyl was a good method too. Nowadays, even FM radio at it's best with it's best use of stereo sound might not live up to the potential of your speakers. Although this varies.

This should be called "What is HD radio, why should I buy it and how do I use it?". "How does HD Radio work?" would cover stuff like OFDM, compression, sampling rates, in-band VS out-of-band, etc. It would probably also take a lot longer than a minute and 28 seconds.

'HD' in HD radio is NOT high definition, it means 'Hybrid Digital' ! Meaning it's capable of receiving analog as well as digital radio broadcasts. You need to check your facts before you post your stuff.

in the uk its called digital radio
A few things it is not "High Definition" ,the "HD" part in "HD radio" stands for nothing it is just a marketing term according to HD radio licenser and creator ibiquity . Also it is not CD quality it is "near' CD quality, "HD radio" only uses about 96.6kbps if only one "HD" stations is broadcasting on the Frequency most stations broadcast 2 HD stations (main channel plus sub channel) and they broadcast at 48kbps which is a lot worst then CD but do overall sound better then FM.
