Britain and Canada have both ignored expulsion orders for their ambassadors in Ivory Coast, saying that Laurent Gbagbo, who issued them, is not the real president.

The latest pressure on Gbagbo to step down came from the US Treasury. It has banned American citizens from financial dealings with Ivory Coast until Gbagbo hands over power to Alassane Ouattara, the man internationally recognised as having won November's disputed election.

With patience wearing thin, Ouattara said West African elite troops should act.

"If ECOWAS do send in special forces with the objective of removing Mr Gbagbo, he will be removed without much damage," he said.

Ouattara was confident such action would not spark a civil war in Ivory Coast. He claims Gbagbo's mercenary militias are killing civilians daily.

Ouattara and his government-in-waiting are blockaded at a hotel, protected by UN peacekeepers.

  • A wonderful nugget. France and the US has stepped up its involvement in Africa. Alassane Ouattara was Former Deputy Managing Director of the IMF and I cant believe the world will swollow this lie hook-line-and sinker. Only some people deserve democracy and we tend to send the message that we dont think you do if you are african.

France should mind its own damn business!

  • @Benny750

There will be a series of videos focusing on Quattara's history with the IMF and World Bank and the central bank of French speaking West African nations.

  • Good upload!

  • Black people need to lead the fight for freedom, especially those living in western countries. Paris, London, and New York should burn at the same time.

  • Isnt it amazing when the "French" ;)) talk about "democracy' in Africa, thats laughable,French history in Africa is barbaric to say the least.Ivorians must stand their ground and not let people like Patrice Lumumba and Thomas Sankara die in vain.God Bless Ivory Coast and the people of Africa. Thanks for translating the interview.

  • When they conquered our people they really study HOW to divide us.

but all we see is black on black

  • You can bet your bottom dollar. If America or France or England or any so called Caucasian country,.... is involved in a country's democracy. You guessed it right they are looking to control that country and exploit it or its people and natural resources especially if it's a black country rich in natural resources These leaders need to stand against the empire. America has a bad habit of putting dictators (puppets) in power for their own $elfish reasons.

  • i think the west want another unrest in African continent. i am now thinking that both presidential contestants were the puppet of the west. this is another arms market for the ashkenazian-jews. prepare for the media; soon they will broadcast 10 &11 year old Ivory Coast children carrying automatic machine guns. where will they get the guns from? we all know they can't afford for it.

  • Allah protect the Chavez of Africa!!!

  • Great video! Power comes from the barrel of a gun. If Gbagbo wuz a nuclear power the UN and France wuldv ben gone. There are no permanent African seats in the UN but they want Gbagbo and other africans to give up power when"TOLD" to. To hell with theze western BEAST. Stand yo ground Gbagbo!
