The second in a series of videos featuring Multimedia Logic describing the theory of operation of Digital Logic gates. This video will demonstrate the AND gate and OR gate using a simple circuit consisting of two toggle switches and a LED. Watch the step by step building of a Truth Table for these two gates.

BTW: The last line of the conclusion should have been, "So now, you know how computers can change up their minds so fast"

Sorry - it got truncated by my fumbling mouse clicker...

This tutorial demonstrates the Multimedia Logic program which can be found at http://www.softronix.com

It allows the user to design, edit, and simulate digital logic circuits in virtual reality. Using the realtime simulation, it is easy to debug complex circuits without having to pickup a soldering iron or deal with a tangle of wires. Avoid zapping expensive integrated circuits.

  • This is perfect for beginners. I'm using a mobile device right now so I can't see all your videos. But, would you mind doing a video explaining a traffic light controller based solely on NAND and NOR gates? Thanks a lot! 2 directions and 2 traffic detectors. No yellows.

  • @xshalludiex Tell me more about how the traffic detectors work. Are there timers involved?

  • @BinaryTutor no timers, just to keep complexity down. Consists of 16 different output combinations from 2 pairs of traffic detectors and two pairs of lights. two North South, two East West.

  • @xshalludiex Please forgive my failure of imagination here. As a licensed driver of many decades, I have quite a lot of experience negotiating traffic lights. Please describe how one with no time delays should work...

  • @VanMedia There are many ways a logic gate can be built for real -- discrete transistors, vacuum tubes, relays. Go to a Radio Shack store and ask the clerk for their cool digital logic science kit. It has all the devices needed for many fascinating projects including detailed instructions for wiring them up. Multimedia Logic is great, but hands on experience with a science kit is -- well -- priceless...

  • @BinaryTutor cool program btw

  • @BinaryTutor how does one make a logic gate in real life? or can you just buy logic gates by iteself and use it?

  • @xshalludiex Its really a theoretical design. It would never be used in a real life situation. I'm just looking for a model that simply illustrates the construction of a circuit table for a simply traffic light controller. Anything that you feel comfortable designing that wont take too much time. Thanks alot again.

  • @BinaryTutor Thank you.

  • @anikid0392 It's called, "Multimedia Logic." It is a free program you can download from the Internet.
