In 2009, Hooks released his track "Don't Stop" which got airplay across Canada and garnered the title of top song on several mainstream radio stations. The video for the single also reached heavy rotation on Much Music. In September 2010, Hooks wrote the song "Reach for the Stars", which he performed with Karl Wolf for the official launch of the 2015 Pan/Parapan American Games in Toronto.Hooks collaborated on the track "Future Soundz" with Ivana Santilli of CP Records, and Toronto artists PTRJON, Curtis Santiago, and CYLENZ. Hooks is also featured on the single "Must Be The Money" with Harvey Stripes, with the song and music video gaining heavy rotation.

Captain Hooks is not scared to cross borders with his music. This versatile artist delivers a mixture of pop, hip-hop, and rock, bringing a fresh new sound with an edge to it. His music has a feel-good vibe that makes people want to dance. Hooks is currently working on his debut album HappyTimes, set for release in the spring of 2011. The first single off the album titled Happy Times with production by Juno award-winning producer Beat Merchant, will be released early 2011
